Transfixed

the forest starts just beyond
where I live and it goes on
and on and on and on and on
it's here I feel that I belong -

the ocean's breath, it's tidal beat
washes on the mountains' feet...
where I live is in between
sea and sky, the blue and green -

eagles soaring in the sky
and hummingbirds which also fly
with butterflies, like swallowtails
and graceful arcing killer whales

in the ocean sometimes seen
like their cousins spouting steam
big grey whales which tantalize
by swimming closely to surprise -

halos all around the Sun
like rainbows they are so much fun...
the atmosphere seems filled with joy
once again I'm just a boy

transfixed, transformed by what I see
all I want to do is be
in this place where I belong
going on and on and on...
