Sabbatical For A Radical

Is there truly collateral beauty in losing someone
Must we travel dark avenues in order to get to the Sun
Must we run in storms as we continue on the race
Must we stay in the inside lane to sustain our pace

Do we replace pain with things that numb our brains
Enveloped under umbrellas to get cover from the rains
Is disdain a thing that a man should try to hide
When he's tired of the lies of those he despise

When familial ties seem like allies of his enemy
Causing fratricide to enter his mind via negative energy
Making an effigy of he whose loyalty seemingly sways
Anybody firing at me best be looking out for strays

Ricocheted their way after missing their target
For there's difficulty in hitting one evading being hit
Won't forgive and forget but I covet a sabbatical
Escaping revolutionary imagery of becoming radical
