My Dis-ease
My dis-ease tells me
trust no one
let no one close
enough to see
what's going on
inside of me
hide my fears
so no one can see
the terror inside
that cripples me
it's hard as hell
to live my life
with such unease
don't pity me
or judge my ways
these obsessions
and compulsions
never go away
I want to go back
to the days
when things
did not go on
this way.

inside of me

Dear FM,
I very much appreciate poems of honesty. The courage to share personal triumphs are, to me, liberating and helpful in ways not seen most of the time. I admire this piece greatly for every time someone else has the strength to share their story it strengthens me, a great big chicken. I’m really happy for you and this success. Lovely write. H🌷

Your response to my poem was very moving and I thank you for that. I'm so blessed today to have very few OCD moments. God has been so merciful to me that I want to tell my story so it might help other people with OCD reach out for help.

I am glad you are managing it, Faith. Things out of our control can be very frightening in life, particularly at the speed life seems to move, when we need it to slow down just a bit.
Thank you for sharing. xo

You are so right, Viking! Live in today, we must. Thankfully, I no longer feel the way I did when I wrote this poem.
