Embers Of Twilight ~ with Adagio
Dark moonless nights in limbo of dreams
Makes me shiver under a blanket of desire
Wearing a carnation six steps below the sun
My imagination taking me places I’ve never been
Floating in a bottle of my Bombay dry gin
As I scribble the devil's woo
Chanting of an unknown song
Humming lyrics to the beat with chattering bones
With tales of chowder and dark wings
Tarnishing the pewter of the silent butler
Hearing foot steps in an empty hallway
Without a ladder to egress
From the pale of a mahogany's shell
Of gothic poets taking a powder with wigs
Ghosts wearing long black hair not being seen
On a sanctimonious highway to hell
Grandstanding at the abyss of night
Tumbling out of sight into insanity
Dark moonless nights in limbo of dreams
In shadows of Eros loosing the limbs
Where red embers become twilight
As the rusted pendulum swings
Of life's crumpets in my cream
Listening to a silent scream
