Marvelous

She's a free spirit in the truest sense
she doesn't play by the rules
never saw the sense in it
not a model citizen
but a caring person nonetheless
 
She studies clouds religiously
finding images in them
faces, traces of pets
she's loved and lost
sometimes even angels
 
Her name is Ursala
but her friends call her Marvel
(short for marvelous)
they envy her
because she takes so many risks
living life to the fullest
 
She colored  her hair blue once
because it's her favorite color
but mostly because she could
then there was the purple hair
the sunflower orange time
she does it
mostly because it's fun
 
Friends have come to expect
the unexpected from her
that's why it's fun to be with her
she's an artist
so many colors
to experiment with
so much time on her hands
for her life is but a glorious adventure
something to be treasured
at all costs
