Not A Rap

This is not a rap
It's not a rap
Yeah, you wanna rap
I know you wanna rap
Rap me on the head
With something you got
Lying in your toolshed

You treat me like
I'm some old hag
Then you try to use me
For a punching bag
You're the worse man
That I ever had
You wanna rap
You dirty rat

This is not a rap
We, no we don't rap
you wanna hit me
With a baseball bat
but you can't
I'm tired of your rants
You can't talk to me like that
You dirty rat
How about that

This is not a rap
You think you
Got me trapped
But it's not like that
I'm getting out
Running fast as I can
When you say
You wanna rap
It's never like that
you wanna rant
And I can't take that
You won't see me again
I'm getting out
I'm gonna shout
I'm getting out
Tired of your crap

Author's Note
This did not happen to me but there was domestic violence in my house when I was young. My Mother's suffering at the hands of my Father's abuse was almost a life time sentence. Although she was able to get away she kept going back with him again and again.
Please note that rap in this poem is old school for talk except when used to mean hit.
