I wish you could stop falling for me
Stop falling for my vulnerability
For my innocent face
The dimples at the corner of my smile
For my flaws
For the words I stutter upon
For my imagination that builds castles in the air,
The things that I hide and you seek to uncover
All the walls I surround myself with and you seek to pass through
How I just seem just one chip away from being perfect
I wish you didn't see this
And part of you didn't want to save me from myself.
I wish you didn't care,
I wish you were not so curious to understand
Who I am,
Where I've been
And where I'm going.
Yet the truth is
You can't help yourself
Not to wonder,
To think of me,
All that I do,
All that I'm will lead you there.
One thing I know to be true
Is I will fail you of that I'm sure,
I've done it before.
I don't want you to be another one
To make the same mistake.
I'm telling you this to open your eyes,
Not to jump in blind.
I'm a distraction,
A perfect temptation,
It's who I am.

A very honest prediction, PoT. Two things came to mind when reading this: 1) For so a man thinks, he is. Be careful what you tell yourself because Love changes everyone and thing; and, 2) sometimes women ( and men ) take a warning as a challenge and jump right in regardless, thinking they can change a person. Rarely does that happen, and then they can't understand why they're hurting.
In the spirit of honest critique, I would change the final I'm in the last stanza to I am. . .it would read much smoother, and not be a repetition of the stanza's beginning.
