Journey

He awakens, rolls over,3AM,
her face in his minds eye.
Not time to arise,
but a moment to check on her.
His phone illuminates his face,
his fingers follow to her den.
A place so often travelled
they go with him half awake.
Knock knock, no one is home
but a lingering look at her likeness.
Dimpled cheeks and sea blue eyes
draw him in, threaten to drown him.
His glance drawn out as her
Siren’s song draws him in.
30 minutes, really! It felt like
seconds spent with her likeness.
The two finger shuffle and her
eyes and lips jump to fill the screen.
A gentle kiss, lips brushing the glass,
enthralled and yet dissatisfied.
A quick note, it seems so inadequate,
expressing the way she makes him feel.
As he drifts back off to sleep, he begins
a Journey to the depths of her soul.
