you are cold impenetrable
and unforgiving

i hate you because you are aggressive
you put down others’ talents hopes and dreams
you lack compassion

i don’t hate you because you’re christian

you can’t listen
without judgement

can’t offer comfort
without analyzing and advising

you don’t help
without expecting compensation

i hate you because you strike out when you’re in pain
laugh at the pain of others
never skip and dance in celebration

i don’t hate you because you’re christian

i hate you because when you’re near
i feel bad
i feel drained confined and depressed

i hate you because
when you’re close i feel guarded judged and devalued
