Teasing Raindrops -

The night heard the far off cry
of the approaching storm,
it waited with anticipation
as the voices echoed it's
arrival, from blinding blue
to velvet black.

Soft breezes lightly teased
the warm air floating around,
the night, becoming more
impatient, like waiting on  a
lover, ready to feel the
storm's seductive touch.

A light caress of raindrops
formed, fell to the waiting
scenes below, the shy rain
touched everything,
like soft tears on blushing
cheeks being kissed away.

A carefree raindrop fell onto
the window pane, closely
followed by countless others,
each waiting for attention
while the window smiled
it's declaration.

The gentle melody, orchestrated,
recently played, the dance
over and standing still in silence,
the raindrops  were tucked
away into the night, drawing
their last breaths, those trembling
heartbeats, now found in dreams.
