Bend your knee to King and God
Bend your pride with contradictions
Pass the plate to pay your tax
Free yourself from false afflictions
Don’t look down, you might catch the eye
Of your son who’s looking up
He saw your pride go in the plate
Such a lesson for a pup
Do as I do, Forget what I say
It’s just best to play along
God will forgive me, the king won’t kill me
Until the money is gone

Dear V,
A lot of truth in the write as well as pragmatic cynicism. I like it a lot for that very reason. Makes me want to be a hermit even more.
