Soul recollections

 
I recall  
When I had a soul  
Life force powerful  
Bountiful feelings wonderful  
Never in a hole  
Always told  
That one day I could have it all  
So I took risks  
I was brave  
And in taking gave to much away  
Always thought I'd never have to pay  
Saying I'll live another day  
Having all the fabulous things in the world while my soul stretched thin and gray  
Like the hairs on my chest  
Now I'm mostly upset  
old  
And have no soul  
But I realize it's for the best  
That soul will not be missed  
Because I have myself  
That's the only thing that really exists  
To count my time as truly blessed  
But I'll still recall  
That soul  
Each day  
Untill I fall
