Moving On Not So Well

Move on we must
as the one we thought
would never leave
departs taking with them
shards of our heart
haunting us
forever forcing us
to rewrite history
so the story better fits
our unrealized dream
perhaps, they will
return one day
to say what?
they have regrets
for having left?
