Hey Stranger

when we first met my heart knew you
from somewhere in time and sang
“Hey Baby......whoooo la la!”

something feels so familiar about you
but my mind sensibly dismisses it
“Hey Flower......he’s a stranger for sure!”

I’ve never seen your face
I’ve never held your hand
I’ve never felt your lips

I’ve never kissed your smile
I’ve never heard your voice
I’ve never known your touch

then my heart flip flops suddenly
with a jester of your kindness
“Hey Handsome......boom, bang, bonk!”

of course my mind was quick to interrupt
without pondering any excitement
“Hey Sillies.......he’s all in your dreams!”

so I scurry to get in bed and change
into sheer purple lace and bows
quickly asleep in a world of imagination

so happy having a good night
sleep I awakened singin.......
“Hey Dream Luver.......!”
