praXis

“There is no true word that is not at the same time a praxis.
Thus, to speak a true word is to transform the world.”
― Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed

i come not with a smooth massage
mine is an irksome message
for men, like dogs, wielding axes
wax void of human axis
no peace can i from you elicit
your claims to life illicit
your words but violence incite
verbose without faint insight
the evil games of hate you practice
with love maintains no praxis
good counsel finds no engagement
amidst earth’s vile enragement
no mercies through your thin veins course
your tongue conscribed to curse
bitter you make the purest palate
and pale the artist’s palette
the poor man’s wealth from him you gouge
the black man’s courage you gauge
as, tripping on your bloodstained vouge,
he slips from human ménage
i come not with a smooth massage
mine is an irksome message
the praxis of your sabotage
shall your own doomsday presage
