I wanted to read a poem, too

hullo, and welcome back

heard a lady speak a poem earlier. we were recording a segment for the podcast. *cough*   [..who's leg do we have to hump to get you on]

In all seriousness though. the emotion which was unleashed was quite something. its uncanny I happened upon this poetry. I feel educated

it's funny how "and for gods sake" can steer the tone a bit, I mean it could be semi-comedic or quite the opposite, I think it fits well into the narrative

for a shortie, it's fairly packed.and to be fair theres no shortage of your blood within. not going to offer anything constructive. you'te far too clever  sue me

Well thank you, Eamonn, it's a pleasure to be here. If I had anything interesting to contribute to your podcast I would most certainly like to, but I'm so out of the proverbial loop that it might not be much fodder for a listener! Thanks for leaving some thoughts for me, though you certainly shouldn't feel educated by any of this. Play on, as they say.

The last two lines are precious ... encapsulate why I love reading and hearing poetry ...

I think it was the opening lines here that struck me most. The idea that a poem is easier to write rather than read expresses this idea that it is easier to write out your own ideas than to try and process other people’s (and perhaps, be lumbered with...people never think of poetry as a burden...) I found rather illuminating.    
    
This idea of motion towards the end confirms the idea that poetry is never stationary. And I like how even amongst the short lines, this snippet feels like its own journey. Perhaps from a cynical frame of mind at the beginning to the glimmer of hope at something more towards the end.

Haha, you made it! Thanks for staying, Missy... Yeah, it was a bit of a frustrated poem, I think... more the tone in my head, as you say, of being burdened by someone else's thoughts, how when you empathise and relate sometimes it takes you places in your own head you aren't ready for. Like that poem could drive you out to the stix, beat you and leave you for dead kind of danger, especially when you are naturally avoidant 😄
