Maidens wring hands in sadness, sighing
while the dogs of war clash with swords
in the perpetual art of man-made madness
hordes dying, dying, dying in vain
coursing
along fiery red fiords towards the dragon's heart

Very mystical despite being categorized sci-fi. I think perhaps mysticism originated from something ancient and now very distant from this planet.

I feel science fiction and fanatasy are similar if not the same - reinventions of what life can be.
You may very well be correct; what physical connection to any alien civilization we descended from surely is long gone, like carbon into a diamond.
