the night weeps inside her sacred hallows
I walk in her solemn order
chastised and given penance
the darkness my mother

a forlorn child of chance
lost in a hazy day
I seek solace within her embrace

the stars open the sky
a vast doorway stands ajar
I enter the onyx kingdom
where I am brought to memory
I know this place

I've long journeyed
an ocean of voices serenade the night
I recognize each one
my soul keens
my being unfurls
I am once again at one with the dark

sent on a quest of discovery
the ancients unlock my mind
I see past the veil and I am home

through space and time I've traveled
an ascension being I turn and evolve
taking my place in the heavens

where I shine
