seldom seen he lives
in the wonderland of deserts woodlands wetlands
mountains plains jungles swamps

preferring untouched places
dirt beneath fingernails steward
servant to the earth

feared by some
because of grizzled appearance
his focus his direct language

they won’t understand his language
due to their militant ignorance false beliefs
their collective greed

isolated from society preferring the company of animals
attuned to universal energies he performs simple magic
with damaged lands

taking only what he needs returning more than he takes
rebuilding rejuvenating nourishing
harmonizing soil plants creatures recreating the garden

rescuing bits and
pieces defending nature
against ‘civilization’

keeping her safe for the time when
humans rediscover the natural way
relearn love and the worship of goddess Gaia
