seedling

I come nigh unto you in my aching hours
starlight escapes my prayers
brittle sighs and moans
whispers my troubled times

lilting song rises from deep within me
entering the inner sanctum
where I hear thunder
it is the voices of many risen up
we stand one and all
awaiting truth to be accomplished

lies flood the Earth
I thought I would be washed away
I trembled inside myself

a mighty tree arose
deep gnarled roots
reaching down, down into the foundations
where a great river courses
it is the waters of life

I rest in the branches of this mighty tree
my poetic voice but a leaf among many
scribe on the leaves our wisdom gained
given over by the cosmos
our Father's very thoughts of us

the weary collect in the shade of this denizen of old
who casts a long shadow from now until the beginning of time
we shall not be confounded

oh seekers of the hidden knowledge
come nigh unto him
he will cleave unto you

the tree of life offers succor
the sacred pools of renewal surges
rest here and be satisfied
