Humiliation (Poem For Lepage Street)

I survived the dinner
Where the air gets thinner
And I retired to the pond
But it gets so loud here

If I die at this moment
Take it from a distance
Maybe they'll list it

Among other things
This urban environment

I have cast my rings around me
I've seen the stars and I was addicted
My heart was screaming and it dropped
me down

Drop dead blue on blue
She was the highlight of all
But I didn't hear her
She put her eyes on mine
She said, "Baby, you'll be fine."

Drop dead blue on blue
She was the highlight of all
But I didn't hear her
She put her eyes on mine
She said, "Baby, you'll be fine."

And so I cried a little
And I ate a bit more ashes

I have cast my rings around me
I've seen the stars and I was addicted
My heart was screaming and it dropped
me down
And while the free-fall progresses

I'm a dancer
Fuckin A
I'm rooting for roses
I'm in guns and roses
Fuckin A

She was wearing blue velvet
I couldn't hear her
She was wearing blue velvet
I couldn't hear her
She was wearing blue velvet
I couldn't hear her
Hers was blue velvet
I couldn't hear her

She put her eyes on mine
She said, "Baby, you'll be fine."

A dark cave path, whereabouts my own
Under dry white ice I found trailings of
humiliation
I'll have a life to live, today

A dark cave path, whereabouts my own
Under dry white ice I found trailings of
humiliation
I'd like a life to live, today
