I canít write a story
Thatís written itself
It ended with murder
Just see for yourself

You change all your actions
The clothes that youíre in
But really the problem
Is the shade of your skin

Thereís rules to follow
And laws to abide
I hope they donít stop you
You may not survive

They have so much power
Theyíre out of control
Theyíll take you down swiftly
Releasing your soul

Donít wear a hoodie
Or play with toy guns
Hands where I see them
Please donít try to run

The problemís much deeper
Than what we can solve
It starts in the home
Where examples evolve

Everyday a new story
Where the fuck have we been
Didnít see it before
All this pain sinking in

We have so much to learn
We have all become woke
You have fought this alone
As they attack, taser, choke

All black lives matter
Itís a fact, itís the truth
The choice is so simple
Yet a side we must choose

If youíre not on this side
And you think your life matters
Sit your ass, not your turn
Weíve got ceilings to shatter

We must rewrite new history
Rewire our brains
That this shit goes on
It is fucking insane
