A rant
Not quite
But tell me
How does a
A Confederate flag
A Confederate statue
How does it solve racism
By getting rid of it
I'm black
And these items
Are only symbols to me
History
That others want to forget
But this history
Makes me stronger
By knowing how far
My people have come
History
I want my kids to know
But others
Wants to hide
What has already happened
Next
They'll be tearing down
Old plantation homes
It's a symbol
Matter of fact
Let's get rid of
Let's ban derogatory symbols
Starting with the middle finger
That offends people
To me
This is all silly
And Nascar
Banning the Confederate flag
From its tracks
So.....
What happens
When in a state they racing in
Has a Confederate symbol
On their state flag
Now ban that flag
Ban that guy's shirt
Or hat that he's wearing
Because of the stars and bars
My point is
America
Land of the free
And home of the brave
But everyone is not free
Our beliefs
Others can condemn
If you're racist
What gives me the audacity
To change what another man believes
Nowadays
The government controls how we think
Or the people of this nation
Crying to the world
This group shouldn't be this
 No longer diversity I see
Everyone has to be the same
Shaking my head
The government answer
Let's ban a flag
And all racism will die
Just another way the government
Is pacifying
What really needs to be changed
