LET'S SEIZE THE NETTLE !
I write what my calm pen indites,
and you write with a pen that fights.
I treat the sujects that appeal
while you don't care how l may feel.
I go with you to your own isle
while you intend to cramp my style.
I like your dale and your high peak
while you act like a smart Aleck.
Let's be good friends in verse and need,
and then we enjoy what we read.
Let us, we two, seize the nettle
and as good friends our rows settle.

You keep claiming that you base
your writings on the form and style and type
of grammar and of phrasing that you see
in what was writ by poets of the golden age, i.e.,
before “free verse” became the rage
And yet you’ve never named just who
these poets are so we might then compare
the way you set your verse
with any of the ways they set out theirs.
So please comply with my requests
to tell us who specifically your model poets are
and then to pen an emulation of
one work you chose out of their repertoire
that full displays the grace and the felicity
of phrasing sentiment contained in theirs
to show that you indeed possess
the talent that you claim is yours

the call to here produce some poetry
that equals in its quality

Here is yet another instance where you sacrifice sense on the altar of rhyme AND use a word that you've used too many times before. Pens are things you **use** to write Pens themselves don't "indite" anything.

How clever you are! Did you discover that by yourself? How amazing! I don't know what readers will say about you.
Did I discover **what** by myself? That pens are things that someone uses to write, not things that are able on their own to write? Readers will say that I was right to point this out and that it looks like you wrote what you wrote to get a rhyme.
But the real question is what readers will say about **you** and your penchant for thinking that getting rhymes at the expense of sense is what makes for good poetry, not to mention your habit of responding to criticisms of the way your write with ad hominems and red herrings rather than dealing directly with the criticisms or admitting that you write poorly.

Please point all of us here to any piece of yours that in your estimation ranks up there, and would stand on an equal footing from a literary point of view, with a poem that was written by one of the poets of what, in your eyes, was the golden age of poetry.
