Thank you, sweet Brenda...
I hope so too, but I don't think that is the reality.
In bigger cities, it is common that many people who are in need of help from unnoticed due to the 'bystander effect'. It seems the more people there are present, the more likely a person is to absolve them self of the responsibility to help someone with the assumption that surely someone else will help them. Unfortunately, when everyone begins to think like that, the person never may never get the help that they need.
Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by... Made my self stop and think as well, heh 😊

I trust that you would too, Francisco! You show many poets here much love, myself included, with no discrimination. Thanks for your continued readership and support, friend! ❤️🙏

Dear NB,
Well this one is a traffic stopper. Cards on the table, I had to really consider what I would do. I’d like to think I would but truth be told I don’t know if I would do it personally. I’m more apt to buy some take out and tip the sandwich maker to bring it to the person in the street. But out of my own fear for approaching a stranger and realizing this made me sad for my own lack of bravery and setting that aside to help another. Ugh! Stop writing things that make me think. I don’t come out looking good at all! 😏 Your write certainly looks fantastic though, as does the visual. You’re going to rock this comp! H🌷

Awww, H, you are so very sweet. I know you would be likely to help, as you are very generous! 🙏😊
After I wrote this, I actually felt a little sense of conviction, as I know there have been times I've seen homeless people holding signs and drove by, assuming someone else would help... and yes, out of anxiety. I always felt guilt for that. I, myself, suffer from pretty bad social anxiety, and I have let it hold me back in many ways.
We don't have much of a homeless population in my town, but I try to help when I see someone in need. About 2 years ago, I saw a guy holding a sign saying he was hungry. I took him to a local restaurant, "Backyard Burger," and bought him a juicy burger... We actually sat and talked for a few hours had some genuine bonding moments. I pretty much learned his life story. He was very kind, just a little off in the head... I still wonder what came of that guy.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts... And I'm glad this was thought provoking for you, though I didn't mean to make you feel bad...*hugs*. I appreciate your awesome encouragement ❤️🌹
Much love,
-NewB

When I worked in D.C. I would take homeless people in and buy them a meal in the food court ...

Our country is at a cross roads . What kind of love do we have? God’s love? Self love? Short term love? Long term love? Love should be unconditional never waver, never changing. Are we going to go back to our old ways or are we going to impact our country in a revolutionary way. Is our impact a short solution or live impacting.

Re. Morality
I love it short and deep. The majority of the people wouldn't. Homeless people are invisible to most. People pass them but. Seems if they are afraid to look. Some people feel they deserve it. Not knowing the under lying situation that put them in that position. Or understanding it could be them one day. People call them bums. With one word they strip them of their humanity. So they are not deserving of compassion or sympathy. People say it's their fault. Which is not always the case. No most won't. They will walk on by. But there is some that come along and make up for the ones that did.

I wonder if there are people who can pass him without giving him half the sandwiches they have, especially if he is like the man of your picture.
