Into darkness

How the little girls mind would swoon
Whenever he came into her room
The monster under her bed at night
Was way too strong for her to fight
Into the darkness her mind would fall
Trying not to remember at all
The fear that filled her so with dread
Every night when she went to bed
Until one night she fell too far
And had only the light of a single star
In these shadows she was dimm
So that was where she hid from him
And in the darkness she would stay
For ever more and a day
