Nightmare

An inescapable room    
A locked metal iron door
An exit lost, never found  
No hatch beneath the wooden floor  
   
Nowhere to run or get away  
Stuck right here trapped in a cage  
No way through this so you cry  
Another lost forgotten page  
   
In silence, you dream of hope  
In life, the journey is long  
Traveling by as demons swarm    
Put on trial for you were wrong  
   
No way through to leave this place    
Fear of all that comes so near  
Anger at how scared you are    
Sad you cry, no choice is clear    
   
A home you love but never seen  
A church bell rings a lovely sound  
A diamond shines, your truth revealed  
A tiny seed, a solid ground  
   
A word will break down men  
A story will create light  
A voice can bring joy or pain  
The heart can show some sight  
   
A lost soul or peace inside  
Mind intact you may survive    
Hidden box is filled with lies    
Crushed beneath, are you alive  
   
A man and his thoughts he writes  
Ideas and beliefs that fly right by  
Simple pawn, thy with no name  
Looked upon one starry sky
