knick knacks
who are you?
do you know me?
can you hear me?
are you there?
have you swam through distant waters
quiet, unaware
were you listening to me
when i was screaming through my thoughts
did you find yourself
between my breath
retrieving what you lost
did you know that i've been carrying
this burden by myself
no work of world can fix my soul
can tame the wild bereft
know me then, the deepest edge
know my mind as it would seep
across the sky
across the stars
across this waking dream
projected now
from skin and bones
floating now
away from home
still yet to find
a place for me
returning not
to the body you see
do you know me?
can you hear me?
are you there?
have you swam through distant waters
quiet, unaware
were you listening to me
when i was screaming through my thoughts
did you find yourself
between my breath
retrieving what you lost
did you know that i've been carrying
this burden by myself
no work of world can fix my soul
can tame the wild bereft
know me then, the deepest edge
know my mind as it would seep
across the sky
across the stars
across this waking dream
projected now
from skin and bones
floating now
away from home
still yet to find
a place for me
returning not
to the body you see
