Ode To Candice
Ode to Candice
A Sonnet by Austin Flank
My sweet Candice, you inspire me to write.
I hate the way you Run and disappear,
Invading my ev’ry day and through the night,
Always dreaming about these lonely years.
Would you compare me to the broken moon?
I am more sullen and devastated
Dark sun heats the crippled peaches of June,
And summertime if left intoxicated.
How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your raw Beauty, oh so sweet.
Thinking of your golden hair fills my days.
My love for you is the token mesquite.
Now I must away with a discreet heart,
Remember my spurned words whilst we're apart.
