Madness and Wickedness

" I was unsure whether I wanted it to be attributed to madness or wickedness, but in some ways it didn't matter. In others, though, it was everything.     - Christopher Coleman

Madness knocks wanting to be let in
Rocking back and forth
Wickedness and poisoned motives speaking softly
The lines between wickedness and madness growing faint

Evil is calling while madness knocks
Wickedness claiming it only wants to play
Unknown screams held behind charming words
Growling and snarling with a wicked grin

Madness and wickedness twisted together
Listening to the slow creak of the door
Tentative footsteps climbing stairs
Seeking it's target as if it's a game of hide-and-seek

Seeking my sanity for it's supper
Twisting it with its own wicked madness
Devouring the possibility of peace
Growling and snarling to wicked grin

Tense moments trapped in the mad gaze of this wicked creature and it's polluted motives Blurring the distinction between madness and wickedness
Evil is calling while madness laughs in my ear
