YOU ASK US WHY?

You ask us why we react the way we do,
Burning our own & Looting too?
You ask us why we disrespect the laws of this land,
Fighting back at what should be our friends?
You ask us why this happens again and again,
When all is over, we go back to the same once again?
You ask us why we donít go to vote,
When you already know whoís going to win?

The answers are simple,
We react this way because youíve pushed us to the end,
The end of marching quietly & nothing been did.
When cameras leave itís back to business as usual, once again.
If we were to do the same as our white counter parts,
The attitude is to give them a pat on the back.
Why donít we vote,
when our ancestors fought for that very thought?
Thatís simple,
You knew who won before it was done.
Although the public favored one,
You put the one who the rich put to run.
Didnít matter whether they qualified or not,
You thought they would be your puppet & cater to your thoughts.
But later you realize soon that they werenít as smart as you thought,
And show their ignorance daily on Twitter & News Channels
Around the Globe, making Democracy a joke.
So why do we riot, burn, & loot?
Thatís the only language you guys seem to know.
Weíve tried your way & nothing gets done,
We wait & we wait, but we still are losing our loved ones.
Iím not saying that those few that do is right for what they do,
Believe me I know that 2 wrongs never make a right.
But you teach us that 2 negatives make a positive, so which is right?
Could it be that you yourself is strongly confused tonight?
All we want is what we chant,
Cause weíre tried of being judges by a 2-sided hand.
So now you know, as one says;
You loot, Weíll shoot
The Answer we say is;
No Justice, No Peace until things change.
Change for the better & not more of the same.
You don't notice when we sit & talk with peace,
This seems the only answer you seem to understand.

This was inspirited by the current events of today. Sadly, I've lived to many of these incidents, both nationally and personally. I'm not saying that these †types of protest is rightly done, but it seems to me that it happens to get things done, but one the other hand when it's turn to people of color, it proceeded as right. No national news, nothing. For I'm a victim of being chased with bats & chains, locked in the Gym, & running for my life, just because I desired a better education. †It's like anything in life, if trapped you'll come out fighting. †The desire to live our life peaceful, having the same equal treatment as all who skin is white. † Blessings
