Image for the poem indigo girl

indigo girl

my fascination turn on the eternal axis
I would not be denied
entering into an understanding
my love provoked
I burn inside my catharsis
where isms split and revolve
on the palms of saints
mouthing copper prayers to the heavens
I was reticent in my sin

little truths escape me
my revelations in metaphor
coded and hidden
secrets freed to the ether
then tightly woven in verse--
orgasmic turmoil
ochre manifestations
cowardice in the telling

I ache in stain glass reflections
my loneliness a testament to my undoing
I would remain bound
a child of the utterly disenchanted
emotionally asphyxiated indigo girl
