"One cent and a flower"

I was having a bad day and felt overwhelmed by all the thoughts like a blazing fire filling my head,
I knew what would happen if I allow it to spread.
I could already feel my lungs filling up with smoke,
I tried to breathe but I started to choke.

I took a deep breath and headed for the door,
Instead of allowing all the fire to burn me to my core.
I started walking and stumbled apon something that brought tears to my eyes,
Something more beautiful than an early sunrise.

A single lonley lavender blooming amongst the weeds and grass,
My face was quickly consumed by water as if the flower emited tear gas.
When I knelt down to pick it from the ground,
I noticed something beside the stem relfecting the sun,
It was a simple piece of copper sent from my loved one.

My brain switched and my hand picked up the penny instead,
1943 Is what the date read.
Seeing the birth year of my grandma I could feel the fire inside burning out,
She sent me the lavender and penny down from heaven there was not a single doubt.
