An Open Letter To Karen

Every freedom we have was earned by someone else; paid for by their sacrifice. Every innovation, discovery and creature comfort we have as a species has been inherited, and their distribution remains unequal.

Please remember this as the fight against Covid continues...

In Soviet Russia, people had to wait 10 years to buy household appliances in many cases because it was a -crime- to buy basic necessities on the "black market."

In Nazi occupied France, Jews were systematically rounded up and kept in sports stadiums. Older teenagers ate worm-infested rotten food so they could ration the fresh food to give to toddlers, many of whom later died with bloated, larva-filled bellies anyway.

During the American Civil Rights movement, people were spit on and beaten at diners just for existing.

I understand it's frustrating to feel controlled, but there's a serious difference between being upset that your routine is interrupted and living under the tyrannical thumb of the government.

Are our rights really being taken away right now? Honestly and sincerely? Or is the luckiest group of humans ever to live just having a hard time dealing with being told "no" by nature for the first time in our collective memory?

P.S. I know you've been getting a lot of hate lately Karen. This post isn't directed at you. Unless you're being a total Karen, in which case, read it over and over until your eyes bleed you petulant child.
