All of nature is about confession.
All sins seek absolution
Absolution involves penance.
In nature, there is penance without sin.
Flora, fauna confess their love
of life to the sun. What is their sin?
Yet their penance is severe.
The great oak, reaches to the sun,
arms spread in praise, provides life giving refuge
in its massive roots, holding birds in its arms.
No sin, penance , death and dismemberment.
Nature has a penance for just being.
The deer, the bear, the whale all are
existing and trying to survive in their
own element. Their sin, none,
their penance, death and dismemberment.
The corn, the wheat all reaching in
their glory for the sun. No sin.
Their penance, death and dismemberment.
The sin on this planet is man. The need
for confession and absolution is his.
But a few words whispered in the dark
cannot undue the wrongs done to the life
just trying to survive on this planet.
Sadly, he does it to himself. Poisons
air, lakes oceans, rivers who have no sin
but have a penance imposed by him.
Does he seek absolution, no! He continues
to sin. Absolution will be sought by future
generations that inherit those sins.
In their case penance is already imposed
and no amount of confessing will change that.
