My Love, Eternal

I long for her kiss,
Her bite,
The solemn right to be her one and only love,
Her traveling companion through the sands of time
From here on.

In the dark of night,
With sacred rite I write of her ominous beauty,
Of her lovely features
As if obscure creatures lurking in the shadows
Possess me and inspire me to transform.

But here I wait,
Amidst the trees under the pale moonlight,
I am no more a man but savage beast
Desiring her caress looming in the cold night,
Right before she strikes.

I can sense her coming,
The way she treads the air,
My senses heighten with anticipation,
Eager for the pain and pleasure of her fang.

“Not like this my love” she says in a dark tone,
The scent of death and darkness is in the air,
And as the moon hides behind the clouds,
Howling at the sky out loud,
I begin to take my human form again.

“Yes” she adds,
Her lovely evil grin and sinister smile,
She approaches my naked body,
Quivering in the cold,
Caressing me,
“Drink” she says
“…and we’ll be together forever, my love.”
