Hope is a lethal weapon
With love as it's soulless brother in arms
Chemical warfare clashing
With dopamine and disappointment
The smoke curls around my tongue
Leaking out in wisps
A ghost of the devil himself
I breathe him in
Desperate to fill this gaping hole
That only grows bigger
And deeper
My throat is too raw to scream for help
I've bombed every road home
Every shelter lies in rubble
Tears won't heal this monstrosity
I've become
I put faith in you
And you let me down
