Missing the simple things
Missing simple things
With the world on lockdown, will the Virus ever end, I'm missing all the simple things, like time spent with a friend.
Missing all my loved ones, they all seem far away, even though I hear from them every single day.
I read how people must try harder once this lockdown through, try to be nicer people, if only it were true.
Even those who I haven't seen, except for funerals and weddings are finding time to say hello, this Virus does my head in.
It wont take long for the tide to turn, for greed to rear its head, then it's back to how we all were, I'll see you when someone's dead.
We will talk of the Virus, like it was a third world war, of rationing and lockdown, when we cared for people more.
How we struggled with nothing, no pasta or bog roll, how shopping took for hours, so many people put on the dole.
How front line staff were heroes, some paid the highest price, saving lives the best they could, we clapped for them so nice.
But will we remember this time, once the Virus is done, will we be much nicer, when we're let back out into Sun.
Or will we turn back into the selfish sods like we were before, will we step over the needy, or people sleeping on the floor.
Let's hope we learn the important things, dont live inside a bank, its people who were there for you, you lot I'd like to thank.
Face to face or online, you helped me through this time, and I want to thank you all for this and will do for all time.
So all the little simple things will come back very soon, hugs and kisses, smiles and laughs will wipe away this gloom
