Image for the poem covet

covet

hinder not the way
when in haste speaketh
draw nigh unto me child of the dawn
who in slumber I kept warm

awaken to the new day
wherein your sins are no more
break not your childhood vows

purity becomes your name
when in the darkened hour
you hearken to midnight to your shame

keepeth to the path o' sunflower
who in a single moment will transform
returning to innocence in an instant

death will feel my sting
when I rob him the lass he covets
