Ha! I am still only midway through it after putting it aside several years ago!
The movie? Is not the same, but instead a Peter Jackson-ish attempt to create a sequel to the original "The Shining" movie that likewise strayed from its book counterpart. Ugggh.

Yep! And if you like the Jack Nicholson movie version of The Shining, you'll really enjoy the movie Doctor Sleep.
