Image for the poem Before I Bit the Apple

Before I Bit the Apple

Before I bit the apple
All I knew was its perfume
Then sweet nectar struck my lips
In buzzing liquid blooms
All the colors of the world
Were now revealed to me
And each new discovery unfurled
Yet still another mystery
I found myself uncovered
And wanted you to see
So you agreed to taste the fruit
To show your love to me
