Sweetener (for D.B.)
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
That aspartame, that high fructose
My palate craves nothing but the real cane
That syrup sweet as David Blaine
All tied up in velvet ropes and chains
His famished look beyond reproach
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
That fake sugar, those candied jokes
I only want that utter sweet
Real sleepy-eyed magician meat
The kind that knocks you off your feet
More luscious than Cadbury yolks
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
It’s all just a huckster's boast
Vanilla tricks at mere cents a pound
I need a greasy illusionist bound
Like a malnourished greyhound
All the rest are just milquetoasts
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
That aspartame, that high fructose
My palate craves nothing but the real cane
That syrup sweet as David Blaine
All tied up in velvet ropes and chains
His famished look beyond reproach
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
That fake sugar, those candied jokes
I only want that utter sweet
Real sleepy-eyed magician meat
The kind that knocks you off your feet
More luscious than Cadbury yolks
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
It’s all just a huckster's boast
Vanilla tricks at mere cents a pound
I need a greasy illusionist bound
Like a malnourished greyhound
All the rest are just milquetoasts
Don’t come at me with that sucralose!
