I saw your childlike spirit, � �
just a mere glimpse, �
and felt the goodness within you. � �
As I then held you to my chest � �
like baby's breath � �
and the sweetest innocence. � �

But you left me choking, � �
blowing smoke rings � �
for an impossible reprieve. � �
Always waiting for you to speak, � �
I was isolated instead. �
You were absinthe in the flesh, � �
and I was the glutton � �
for your insanity, � �
the spite and emptiness. � �

You finally saw me drowning, � �
merely existing, � �
realizing only your love would heal � �
when ribs and vertebrate, � �
the illnesses and mistakes � �
had became my closest friends. � �

matter not, in reminisce... � �
