Nurses

Those among us who do the thankless job of saving people’s lives
Waking up whether it's the morning or evening to answer the call of duty without fail
Facing life and death is a daily occurrence
Happiness and sadness come together in a convoluted concoction like oil and grape juice
These are the unsung heroes who see the worst of us at our most vulnerable moments
Uplifting deflated weak spirits in their darkest difficult moments
Their human touch healing beyond the physical and mental
Taking upon their shoulders the burdens of others
The lifeline that shows that the medical profession is not only a rudimentary scientific practice
Carry within them the power to strengthen the meek and weak to a point of exuberant health
