The Game of Love (String of Senryu)

Don't be a player
In this endless game of love
Nor be a gambler

Games are played by fools
Staking their hearts foolishly
Unsure of winning

Don't lay your poor heart
On the table keep it safe
If you are afraid

In this game of love
Only the braves dare to bet
With their  foolish hearts

There's no guarantee
That the king or queen of hearts
Will be won fairly

Winning and losing
Are the two consequences
Of playing this game

If you dare to play
Play with caution be watchful
Of the trickery

Love games do employ
Manipulations and tricks
At times deception

Be wise don't be fooled
By the face of love you see
It changes with time

But if you're ready
For a heartbreak then gamble
Fate is your dealer

And if you're lucky
The stars may smile down at you
And let you win love
