Fly My Paper Kite

Fly my paper kite.
Sail origami swan.
Where have you gone?
To faraway lakes and rivers
Where we dream of green fields
To the treasures of the heavens
Where the balloons have gone away.

I’ll sing as though you are listening.
I will dance as though you see.
My lips are sweet with tears
As though we may never kiss again.

Through clouds white in Heaven,
A dying sun sheds his rays.
Through the foam upon the sea,
A wilted rose washes ashore.
While the moon shares the sky,
And the dew sings upon pearl wings
In the dawn behind my eyes
I feel a solitary dream arise.
A kiss from someone dear,
Here at the end of all things.
