Image for the poem I値l run with you

I値l run with you

We are crepuscular beings
You and I
By day we yearn for dusk
And night for dawn to show
But tangled in twin satin sheets
We love under the sun
Til those hours, we so desperately seek

We chose the misty hills
And towering pines
We let the grass grow taller than my golden tresses
Braided by your hands
Those hands.. I know and love
That face I caress in moonlight glow

Can you feel it rising up?
Evening wind chimes start to sing
Barefoot, like a wild child
And a little slip dress
You unbraid your work
And kiss me there
Loose strands blowing free
Grassy green dancing in front of me

We leap from porch wood
To the hillside fields
Chasing mountains
Reaching for pine needles
We resemble animals
Set free from cages
We belong to the earth
We return to nature

I stood to catch my breath
The sky had dimmed, by then
Crickets chirping by the trees
Fireflies illuminating my eyes of green
Just little flickers in the dark
Followed by a yellow spark

We sit and savor
Anticipating
The start of eve
Where we look to the fields
And start running

And I値l run with you
As far as my feet allow me
