Lighthouse

I listen to the summer rain,
falling from the somber sky;
tapping on my windowpane,
as the heavens start to cry.

I gaze beyond the looking glass-
pain that separates our worlds,
in search of greener looking grass,
or a tree that isn’t gnarled.

Standing in the misty light-
house(d), beside the stirring sea
she illuminates the starless night,
and the darkness within me.

She guides me back to her again,
from the tower up above;
shining light from deep within,
with the power of her love!
