Dirty secret
I am the secret you do not wish to know, the side of you that you cannot show.
It's funny to me that you've hidden me for so long, for I blossomed inside your soul.
I wonder how it feels to lie to one of the people you love, that you only love him.
I am the burden you carry deep down in your being, I am the secret you will die with.
You loved me so tenderly that you made music out of your soul and the gods trembled.
And then you let me go so fast that you split my soul in two, you ruined me.
I am the secret you do not wish to know, half of your soul that you can't show.
Because you love me, but you love him.
How ironic, the lamb and the lion.
I can no longer fathom how you couldn't just tell us both,
I presume it was because of your ego, or the pain down in your lungs.
I am not someone you can hide,
I am a bed of hot coal; burning bright.
