Taken far too young still their legacy endures.
Music masters, shooting stars of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Oh what they may have done, genius left to mature.
Through Buddy I succumbed to Peggy Sue’s allure.
With unique stuttered cadence tales of love he told.
Taken far too young still their legacy endures.
Chicano teen rocks his “La Bamba” signature.
Music’s flame burned bright in Richie’s Mexican soul.
Oh what they may have done, genius left to mature.
Jim sings of love, free will, and tough bullies conquered.
On stage, he looked like the cool teacher from high school
Taken far too young still their legacy endures.
Harry’s cradle song made me a better father.
When “Taxi” I hear, my emotions lose control.
Oh what they may have done, genius left to mature.
Though short lived, they gained giant musical stature.
These heroes of my Pantheon playlist extol.

A tribute to some of my fallen musical heroes, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Jim Croce, and Harry Chapin. Two of which I listened to before I was born.

Thank you so much, Julia❣❣ I feel fortunate to have discovered Buddy Holly and Richie Valens in my 20's. When I was a kid I thought Buddy Holly was kinda weird and now I recognize his genius and frankly I didn't know anything about Richie Valens until I saw "La Bamba" with Lou Diamond Philips 😃 I just have a positive addiction to music...my mistress 😍

I loved that movie too...became an instant fan of Richie Valens, Los Lobos, and Lou Diamond Philips. Music has been my lodestar my entire life. I seriously would not be me without my music. I think you'll enjoy my "Millennial King" piece.
